On Yoolegalities

The recent further disclosures of multiple DOJ documents (that contained what essentially amounted to decrees of the Bush administration with regard to government power) demonstrate four essential points I have been writing about over and over here, at APOV:

1) intellectual sloth drives intellectual vanity, arrogance and incompetence (see here and here, as examples);

2) incompetents are morally and ethically impaired (see here, here and here, as examples);

3) incompetents are slaves to expediency (see here, here and here, as examples);

and 4) only incompetents abuse power, or seek constantly to do so (see here and here, as examples).

Q.E.D. - sadly and tragically enough.

The U.S. was indeed this close to have lived through a full "crossing of the Rubicon".

But let's not be fooled here - while this can be considered overall as a close call (in many ways, as this, but on a more down-to-earth scale), civil rights and liberties remain dangerously precarious and very much in jeopardy ... even with the new democrat administration.

Vigilance and responsibility therefore remain a must - now, more than ever.
