My Fellow Canadians: Now What, Eh?
My brain took a double-take when I read the following (emphasis added):
Harper not trusted to handle economy: pollNow here's my question, fellow Canadians: what the Hell were you thinking then when you put back Harper and his Harpies in government once again?
Few Canadians have faith in the ability of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government to address the economic crisis, suggests a poll released Wednesday.
It found just one in four Canadians believe Harper's government is doing a good or very good job of dealing with the crisis, and more than 40 per cent have little or no confidence the government can make things better.
The poll was conducted by Nanos Research on behalf of the National Union of Public and General Employees.
In total, 1,003 Canadians were surveyed by phone between Jan. 3 and Jan. 7.
How is it possible that you would bring back Harper as PM when you don't trust him to do a good job on the economy, especially when it was quite evident during the campaign that he and his cronies didn't have a clue as to the dire straits the economy was sliding straight into?
Oh yes ... I'd momentarily forgotten about that. And this and that as well.
First, I must reiterate, my fellow Canadians: make up your fucking minds, eh?
Second - it goes to show once again that if you don't get off your lazy keyster to get informed and/or get out and vote, you are likely to end up with crap at the helm of our government.
Thanks for nothing.

There's a silver lining. Nobody would have confidence, right now, in any government's ability to deal with the economy. Nor should they. Nobody really knows what to do & nothing is a quick fix. But--here comes the silver--the government in power will get blamed for it. So this is actually the best way to get rid of Harper in the long-term.
ReplyDeleteWell, I still hope that the Harper government will be booted out short-to-medium term ... ;-)
