The Holy United States Of America

Indeed. I covered the mater and subject previously in this older post.

Now here's where I am being (unfortunately) proven right ...

First, you had this primitive mind-driven attack add by Elizabeth Dole (R) against her opponent Kay Hagan (D):

Ah yes - the fear and loathing of atheists ...

Of course, Hagan then responded:

Notice, however, that a large part of Hagan's response included her own passionate proclamations of faith ... apparently the de facto obligation of any American politician in these enlightened, rational, technological and scientific times of ours.

Yet, that is what things have devolved to in the U.S. of A. - and then some indeed.

So - welcome to the Holy United States of America and the Age of the President Pontificate.

How long until we get the same in Canada?

I think I heard someone mention "Semi-Dark Ages" ...

I've long maintained that there is one group of people in the United States against whom discrimination is not only tolerated, but acceptable.

Two days from now I will see the first black president. I may yet see a woman in my lifetime. A Muslim? Sure, but I do not expect ever to see someone like myself (an agnostic) attain our highest office.

Hey...and BTW...thanks for the link above.
