Our Prime Douchebag Pulls Yet Another "Bush" - Again
Remember these (in)famous words from Da Leader/Decider/Commander Guy back in 2006? Here they are again (emphasis added):
As we approach the end of 2006, the American economy continues to post strong gains. The most recent jobs report shows that our economy created 132,000 more jobs in November alone, and we've now added more than 7 million new jobs since August of 2003.Now, he-e-e-e-re's Harper with regards to our faltering economy and stock market woes (emphasis added):
The unemployment rate has remained low, at 4.5 percent. A recent report on retail sales shows a strong beginning to the holiday shopping season across the country -- and I encourage you all to go shopping more.
During an interview with the CBC's Peter Mansbridge following the release of his party's long-awaited platform on another tumultuous day for world markets, Harper said he believes there are "probably some great buying opportunities out there."In other words: "I encourage you all to go shopping more".
"We always know when stock markets go up, people end up buying a lot of things that are overpriced, and when stock markets go down, people end up passing on a lot of things that are underpriced," he said.
"I think there are probably some gains to be made in the stock market. That's my own view."
The obvious question is: with what money will middle class Canadians buy up "stock opportunities", Mr. Prime Douchebag?
Or was your recommendation meant for the top (rich) 1% of the population?
There's your "trickle down" economics at work, folks - proof again that all conservatives/republicans/neocons look out for are the wealthy and the wealthy only.
I can hear their happy cries already: "One more mandate! One more mandate!"
I have nothing against those that are wealthy - except when they act like blood-sucking, incompetent leeches. However, I am disgusted by Harper's complete indifference, lack of understanding and lack of even a shred of empathy, for the economic situation of the average Canadian.
He just can't grasp anything of the reality of the daily lives of poor and middle class Canadians, being able to merely pay lip service to it like someone offering condolences and platitudes to family members of someone who just died and who was a stranger to you.
But then - what else can you expect from a (neo)con elitist like Harper?
Of course, I am somewhat putting aside here the fact that only now Harper is revealing his "platform" - about a week from election day. Now, I don't know about you, but seems to me that this is a display of utter contempt towards all of us - especially when considering our current economic sputters.
Plainly put: there goes Harper's false leadership and incompetence again ...
So what else is new?
No wonder Bush and Harper are good pals ...
