... And The Comedy Goes On

This is pathetic:
It doesn't matter whether Couillard has written a litany of exaggerations - or even lies - ... what matters here is the level of embarrassment people drown themselves with (and this is aimed at both Bernier and Couillard) while, at the same time, shaming us all.

This is pure reality TV trash being played out in public.

Not putting aside here the abysmal performance of Bernier as Foreign Affairs Minister to begin with.

That is what happens when a party is willing to accept anyone in their ranks in order to win strategic ridings and/or provinces in elections.

No vetting. Just popularity or the "splash" of interest in a party said candidacy will bring to the party - along with key votes.

I hope Harper feels like the idiot he has been.

He deserves to be ridiculed for his poor choices in candidates, especially when he gives them important ministerial functions to boot.

A good thing that ridicule does not kill, eh?

Now, speaking of poor choices in candidates - wanna bet we are most likely to see more or less the same kind of political comedy played out during a Palin Vice-Presidency?

That is what happens when you elect someone mainly because that candidate comes across as a "regular Joe" or a "Joe Six-Pack".

Has no one learned anything from the Bush Presidency?

Will we Canadians let pass the Bernier-Couillard embarrassment to our Country, to our institution of Government which we entrust with our votes?

Are we to ever trust again Harper to make any choices for us, make any decision on our behalf?

That is, in the end, the question.

Watcha gonna do about it on Oct. 14, eh?

  1. The whole Bernier-Couillard affair makes me think that we cannot blame the Americans for voting for regular Joes. This is exactly how people elected Bernier, this is exactly how he is selling himself, this is the only defense he had when the controversy started ("hey, I'm a regular Joe from Beauce, and proud of it") and he might get reelected because of that.

  2. G; exactly. However, I submit that not only the Americans are to blame for doing this, but we as well ...
