60 Minutes Into Debate Night Buffet
The Leaders' Debate:
- Green shift time: Dion is looking directly at the camera to defend it. Interesting.
- still on the environement and still the same things being said as last night;
- May repeats the "fraud" word at harper, as last night (see? I told ya we're watching a replay in English of last night's debate in French!)
- Doctors and nurses time: Layton says the same thing as last night (and as always); the other likewise play the bis repetita game;
- Harper: it's all the fault of the liberals (yaaaaawn);
- I'm beginning to think that I should've not watched last night in French and instead wait for tonight ...
The U.S. V-P Debate:
- same-sex marriage: Palin fibs and looks stupid. What a surprise ...
- funding troops: Palin repeats sillyness about Obama being against the troops. No "early withdrawal", "we have to win in Iraq", "although the surge has worked in Iraq", and "we are down to pre-surge troop levels in Iraq" (really?!? How about the 20 thousand or so soldiers just sent over there? Hmmm ...). Again, Biden talks sense about Iraq - but Palin calls it a "white flag of surrender". Incredible!!! Are we really back to that kind of crap from 2004-2006?!?
- funny thing though: when Palin "jibes" at Biden, she looks straight in the camera, not at him ...
- while Biden looks at Palin from time to time, he talks mostly "to" McCain ...
- which is worse: unstable Pakistan or Iran? Palin: repeating Obama being naive and dangerous and blahblahblah on this. More talking points from her (yawn). Biden calls her (or rather, appropriately, McCain) on these lies about Obama. Heh.
- Palin: no failures of the Bush administration, only blunders, as in all previous administrations. Forget the past, Stop pointing fingers and the blame game. Yeah. Right. Biden: the past does matter and McCain is the same as Bush. Heh.
- Interventionism, nuclear weapons - I just noted that Palin says "nukular" - like Bush! Palin then jumps to Afghanistan and says the a surge is needed as in ... Iraq! Yaaaaay!!!! (ugh!) Biden: facts matter. The surge principle will not work in Afghanistan, so says the commanding General there. Hah!
More to come ...
